Dr. Hottie's Reality Checkup

Welcome to my world. Expect very real opinions (laden with sarcastic and off color humor) about the great invention that is reality television. This blog may occasionally stray off topic, but its for the best really.

Dance and Song

Brief note on SYTYCD. Travis and Benji rocked. Heidi and Donyelle were rather good too but they won't win. I think Travis would enjoy being in Celine Dion's show more than Benji simply given his style of dance but I would be happy if either of them won even though Benji is more scrumptious.

I recently found out that in addition to American Idol's regular competition they are also having a songwriting contest. I always said I could write a better song than those jagoffs who wrote 'Inside Your Heaven'. Sorry. I hated it.

So I figured I would post one of my songs. I doubt this will be my submission because its country and not really what I think they're looking for, but I think its one of the favorite songs I've written. I actually have had one of my songs recorded by a local band, but I don't think that is the type of song they're looking for either. Very John Mayer-ish. Anyways, here it is.

You were always so fearless, like nothing could touch you, but I did
You started gettin' careless - I couldn't handle the truth, so I quit
Drank a whole bottle of red wine the very next day
Convinced myself I never loved you anyway
Got my anti-romance remedy - I think I'm cured
So then what am I doing here at your front door?

My ears didn't miss your name
My lips didn't miss your taste
Just making sure you know
My eyes didn't miss your smile
Your touch never crossed my mind
It didn't hurt to let you go
So if you think I missed you I didn't
Alright, I missed you a little bit

I got your make up flowers - swear they looked really nice in the trash
Used to wait for you for hours
Each time you didn't show up my world crashed
I believe you loved me, waited for you to prove it
What good is a man's heart if he doesn't use it?
I was a fool to let your charming words pull me in
So then what am I doing back in your arms again?

My ears didn't miss your name
My lips didn't miss your taste
Just making sure you know
My eyes didn't miss your smile
Your touch never crossed my mind
It didn't hurt to let you go
So if you think I missed you I didn't
Alright, I missed you a little bit

Baby just who am I kidding?
You make my life worth living

My ears didn't miss your name
My lips didn't miss your taste
Just making sure you know
My eyes didn't miss your smile
Your touch never crossed my mind
It didn't hurt to let you go
So if you think I missed you I didn't
No not even for a minute
Didn't let myself get caught up in it
Alright, I missed you a little bit

Not A Beauty Pageant

Did I ever mention I despise the editing on Treasure Hunters? Since I know in the past there has been foreshadowing on the show as to what will happen and it ALWAYS happens, when the voice over at the beginning mentioned elimination and we get a shot of the Miss USA's I KNEW they were gone. Even when all of the knuckleheads couldn't find the clue at the castle I knew they were gone.

Here's what else I think. Air Force really are supreme beings that dominate all. The Southies think they're more clever than they really are. Ex-CIA needs to stop listening to the Southies. And the geniuses do not live up their name sometimes.

At any rate, I'm still rooting for Air Force to win. I know they're the frontrunners but I like them.
